TueTuesdayNovNovember6th2007 coffee anyone?

Well gang how about a night out on Thursday night (the 8th) at the Java Lounge in Williamsburg? We obviously wont be playing any run around games, but there might be others we could play. We would still have our Bible study time so bring your Bibles and your green books.

What I need to know from you is if you plan to be there or not. We would meet there directly and NOT at church.

We wont do this every week, we will just try it this once and see how it works out. Let me know what you think.

TueTuesdayOctOctober30th2007 new look
Hey all,

Just a couple of things:

1) The 2:42 website has a new look! Check it out at www.cefcw.org/242

2) The blog is back too! You can check that out at www.cefcw.org/blog242

3) See you at the park in Williamsburg for Halloween from 3-7 pm.
We've got invitations for 2:42 ready to hand out to the "big kids" as well.

That's it. Hopefully see you on Wednesday and then again on Thursday night!

WedWednesdayOctOctober17th2007 busy, busy, busy...
Dear 242ers (is that really a word?),

Is it almost Thursday already? I don't know about you but Thursday night will come as a nice break from a busy week. Try to get homework done ahead of time so you can come and enjoy.

Don't forget to look at Lesson 5 for this week. The passage is Ephesians 3:1-13. I hope you guys are enjoying this study. I know it sometimes seems like busy work but trust me, its worth it. If you remember when we started meeting again this fall I mentioned that our goal this year is to "go deep." I want to help you guys "go deeper" in every area of your faith, and that includes reading God's Word.

Well, hope the week hasn't been to bad. Stay out of the rain. We'll see you tomorrow night.

- P.E.

p.s. - finish this sentence: "Last year at this time I would never have thought God would..."
WedWednesdayOctOctober10th2007 how r things?
I hope everyone is doing well this week. Sorry this message is a day late; things have been busy on my end. I'm looking forward to tomorrow night and I hope you all are too.

We've been seriously lacking in the snack department lately. Any volunteers to bring something for us to munch on. Hey, I've gotta depend on you guys for the food, it's enough for me to worry about the pop and the games. So anyway if someone wants to bring something that's cool.

Has anyone even thought about the green book since 9 pm last Thursday night? If not here's a reminder: We are on Lesson 4 (pp. 37-43). We will be looking at Ephesians 2:11-22. In case you haven't read the passage yet here's your chance (if you have, good for you, read it again, it won't hurt):

"Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called "uncircumcised" by those who call themselves "the circumcision" (that done in the body by the hands of men)-- remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.

For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."

Good job! I knew you could do it. We will see you all tomorrow night.

Later,
- P.E.

p.s. - did anyone try and spend their Dietrich Dollars?
TueTuesdayOctOctober2nd2007 This week's stuff and other things
First of all I need your suggestions for something to promote 2:42 at our Halloween outreach. We may get some students to come by our table so we thought we would invite them to the group. It would be nice if a few of you could be there to help promote our youth group. Who knows, maybe a spoons game might break out.

We are meeting this Thursday, October 4th. Get all your school stuff done so you can come and just have fun. We will be doing the Bible study, but that can be fun too. I hope you didn't forget about Lesson 3 (pp. 31-36). Bear minimum read Ephesians 2:1-10. Try to at least look through the questions too; write something down if you feel like it.

Also, bring you suggestions for Sunday morning worship. We may be talking a bit more about music and worship and stuff like that. Bring a guitar too if you want; we could "jam".

I hope the week hasn't been to rough on you (it's only Tuesday, how bad can it be?)

Here are some thoughts for the week:

Would you rather...

...have terrible acne or be bald?
...sneeze for an hour or hiccup for an hour?
...embarrass yourself or have your parents embarrass you?
